MUSIC FOR POEMS

ELISABETTA ANTONINI QUARTET/QUINTET

A virtual encounter with poets, through their pages and their narrative voices, a visionary and surreal journey to explore the link between the author’s word and composition, between blank verse and improvised music, both authentic, intimate, refined, urgent. An emotional dimension, the poetry, that strongly inspired Elisabetta Antonini one of her most important works as a jazz musicians, the award-winning album THE BEAT GOES ON – Homage to The Beat Generation, produced and published by Alan Bats from Candid Records, as well as other compositions written using poems and recorded in other albums.

Blake, Ginsberg, Omero, Kerouac, Corso, Bukowski are some of the authors who offer words of infinite beauty and inspire songs, sound architectures, instrumental and vocalized melodies which in turn restore strength and vigor to the poetic suggestions.

Making use of diversified ensembles but still made of extremely sensitive and creative collaborators, and supported by electronics colours and the use of samples and vocal filters, Antonini offers landscapes of great impact.

Any projections and evocative images of the time can enrich the project.
